Our philosophy on teambuilding sailing
Working together effectively, enjoyably and successfully!
Developing a team successfully and effectively requires solidarity. A good team has common goals, clear task and role divisions, shared job satisfaction, mutual tolerance and success stories.
Full speed ahead through team development
It is precisely at this point that team development and team training begins. Success in the team can be created and modelled on board. When sailing, the correlation between cause and effect becomes immediately apparent. The manoeuvres during sailing serve as a mirror for behavioural and communication patterns within the team. As such, they are excellent training situations for new forms of cooperation. All facets on board are metaphors, like the course being sailed and the ropes pulled together. A ship is a closed system.
What is learned is immediately put into practice
To further develop team qualities such as cooperation, social skills, communication, creativity and accountability, we work with hands-on team training on board. Here, practical situations for efficient communication and achieving goals are created. In order to provide transparency and to optimise processes in your organisation, you solve diverse tasks as a team. These are evaluated together with our trainers afterwards. The advantages of this method are obvious: a holistic approach, motivating learning situations through shared experiences, and long-term learning effects. The theory sections consist of various models from psychology, pedagogy and group dynamics. The new visions round off the learning process. This makes holistic team learning possible; experiencing with head, heart and hands. When carrying out team assignments, recurring processes and problems from daily work in the physical field become learnable and new, creative solutions are developed within the team. Personal experiences reinforce the theoretical input, which is thus immediately secured.
Tailor-made training in an inspiring environment
Our sailing training courses are carefully designed concepts for team development and employee motivation. Our training courses are original, rich in contrasts and put together skippersentirely according to your wishes. We like to spoil you with our service, but above all with peace, views and air to breathe – you learn to unwind! The training room is nature, an inspiring basis for learning and action.
Professional coaching
Our trainers have multiple qualifications: they are qualified educationalists and have a background in psychology, as well as being qualified skippers and sailing experts, guaranteeing safety and professionalism in all actions. Years of experience, extensive further training and a lot of human feeling ensure that the team is surrounded with optimal care during and after all training units. Before we make you a detailed offer, we review with you the requirements and objectives for the team. On the basis of your specific assignment, we develop a concept with training formats tailored to your needs. This could be a comprehensive team development plan provided over a longer period with successive constructive training blocks, or a targeted measure that is supervised on a one-off basis.
Here are some of our training courses:
Basics – who is responsible in the team, and for what?
Communication – what is not running smoothly in the team?
Representative Model – what are the strengths and weaknesses in the team?
Role in the team – where do I stand, where do I want to go?
Group dynamics – working within the team.
Rapport – how do I communicate in the team?
Didactics – how do I share and pass on my experiences?
Time, resource and change management – what can be done more effectively with / in the team?
Analyse action and communication patterns – what can be changed?
Dealing with conflicts – what can I learn from conflicts and how can we find solutions together?
Making the most of potential – learned a lot, now what?
Personal background
Our work is only part of our lives; we also bring our personal background. Everyone has certain values, many of which are learned early on. These values often determine our guidelines in life, now and in the future. So isn’t it important to know and name these values? And perhaps reconsider them as well? This will help us optimise our lives, both at work and at home.
Values and Beliefs – awareness of decisions?
Systematic work and acceptance – where am I coming from?
Perception – from which angle do I judge a situation?
Neurological level – at what level do I connect?
How do I work with my energy – am I in balance?
Individual assignments:
Assignments are presented not only to the whole team but also to each person individually:
Converting a plan, even within time constraints – what are my alternatives?
Resource management – what is at my disposal?
Building social skills – can I contribute more to the team?
Communication – am I being heard enough in the group?
Dealing with sudden changes – is my work effective?
The essence of the team
By living and working together on board, the essence of the team becomes clear, so that one understands what drives each person personally and that one can and should learn from each other at all times. These intensive days balance effort and relaxation, mental growth and personal breakthroughs.
