Authentic sailing ship

The sailing ship Catharina of Mijdrecht was built in 1916 as one of the last sailing cargo ships in the Netherlands. This authentic Overijssel Klipperaak started her second career as a passenger vessel during the mid-1980s.

Authentic atmosphere
During restoration,  close attention was paid to the original appearance of the ship. An authentic atmosphere with lots of varnished wood and nautical details prevails. The day room is spacious and cozy, so a large group can sit comfortably. Topside there is plenty of seating and a spacious sundeck. The sleeping accommodations meet  three-star nautical comfort requirements, each cabin having comfortable beds, running water, lighting, a power outlet and a porthole that can be opened.

Capacity
The Catharina of Mijdrecht has a daytime capacity of forty passengers; for overnight stays we have eighteen comfortable beds in eight cabins. Don’t worry if your party is bigger: we are experts at sailing together in a convoy with other ships, calmly sailing along or having a mini regatta, and  anchoring together in the evening for a barbecue on board.

Rigging
The simple and easily manageable rigging makes the Catharina a very attractive ship for both beginners and experienced sailors. The next port can be reached easily and comfortably in most weather conditions.

Crew
Once on board you are in the hands of a skilled crew. With their many years of experience they can make every cruise an unforgettable experience.

Possibilities
All in all, the Catharina of Mijdrecht the ideal vessel for your sailing trip, family party, business meeting, corporate or teambuilding event, school trip or youth camp. A day’s sailing on the Markermeer or IJsselmeer, a cultural weekend with visits to  old Zuiderzee towns or an adventurous Wadden Sea journey; it is all possible.
