Aboard the Catharina van Mijdrecht, you are in the hands of a competent and experienced crew. With many years of experience taking care of all kinds of groups, they know how to turn every trip into an unforgettable experience. Jos Rodewijk is your skipper and will safely see you across the waves. Danny Honig is your hostess and will make sure that all your culinary needs are fulfilled. On occasion, for example for workshops, the team will be extended with expert freelancers.

Passion for sailing
Born and raised in the South Holland lake area, I developed a passion for the water at an early age, and by the time I was twelve I was sailing on my own. When the chance came along to turn my passion into my profession, I grasped it with both hands.
On my ship, it’s all about our guests’ experiences. Whether they’re there for just a few hours or for several days, I strive to bring them the kind of adventure they’ll be talking about for quite a while. Young or old, passionate sailor or just there to relax; everybody feels at home aboard the Catharina van Mijdrecht.

Passion for good food
My distant ancestors founded the Honig brand, famous in the Netherlands for its soups and pastas, so apparently the love of food and cooking runs in my genes. Love of all things nautical came from my parents, who both sailed -and met- on the Holland America Line.
It can be quite a challenge to produce a good meal on board, using all my creativity and enthusiasm under sometimes difficult circumstances. I am only satisfied when our guests are.
